This week I decided I needed a diet change. I was ALWAYS hungry and someone at work bought a whole box of York Peppermint Patties (YUM) and it was just getting out of hand. I have a lot of friends that do the IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros) and I thought I would give it a whirl. I talked Elyntia into doing with me for 4 weeks! Take a look at her update below that lets you know what this diet does for us!

On the exercise side of things, I have been going to the gym 4 days a week in the mornings (yes 6 am) and also doing TKD twice a week. With IIFYM plan, the workouts are already included in your calorie intake which is something that throws me off a bit, but I like it since I forget to log a lot! After numerous discussion in our Geeks Get Healthy page, I have come up with a new workout plan. I used to be all about cardio, but now I am going to switch it up and keep TKD as my HIIT cardio workout for the week and then lift 4 days a week at the gym. I have never lifted before in my life so this is a whole new journey for me!

Starting weight – 180.5

Today’s weight – 167.8

You can find me on MyFitnessPal as korngirl723.

So I am still sitting at the 291 mark, which is awesome! I’ve been really trying to stick to a paleo-ish diet while at the same time keeping MFP goals in mind, and it has been getting hard, there are some days where I am simply starving in the evenings and I know you can’t do that and lose weight, so I’d eat more protein (to keep me full) and just go over.  Clearly that hasn’t been hurting me. Then I started to hear more about this whole If It Fits Your Macros thing. I thought this is insane you can’t lose all kinds of weight while eating all kinds of pop tarts etc.. but then I got my macros done and I realized they aren’t just eating chips and pop tarts all day. You have to hit more than just a calorie goal with this one, you have to hit protein, fat and carb goals as well and according to the macros they gave me eating chips all day would only let me hit the fat and calorie goals LOL! Which of course would do nothing for me! The macros I got are very close to how I was going about my food choices before, only now I have clear numbers involved, which is way easier for me to stay on track. Hunger is certainly not going to be an issue, the volume of food required every day is staggering, I’ll be picking up some new protein powder to use shortly and that should assist in the food volume lol! So I said I would do this for 4 weeks and see how it goes.

Stats for this week:

291 lbs

Ch: 46

W: 46

H: 55

This week has been full of ups and downs physically with the flu circling my house, however I made a point to get in 30 minutes of workout everyday, and have been on point with my nutrition!! This is a huge win for me because when my house goes to chaos I usually reach for something quick and easy. Thankfully I meal prepped the last 2 Sunday’s and because of that since last Wednesday I am down 10 pounds!! I’m so excited, and your guys’ motivation is so helpful!! So thank you for adding me into your group!!
