Welcome back to the 2017 edition of Geeks Get Healthy! Where we give our updates, and resolutions, support and encouragement for making ourselves a little bit healthier in the new year! We want to motivate one another and help each other get on the right track by working out, eating right, and reaching a great state of mind in the process. Join us weekly as we share our personal journey’s and stats to show you all that if we can do it, so can you!
Last year I did well, well enough that is. I need to get back on the train of eating well and working out daily again. With school, work, and kids we all know that this can be tough but I WILL DO IT. This is something that I promise myself. My bullet journal will help me keep track and keep my goals!
So I bailed at the end of 2016, on the plus side I came out 18lbs lighter than the end of 2015 so that’s a win! Back into it again for this year, even at a 20lb average per year I’ll make my goal eventually haha We’re going to bite the bullet this year and join a gym with our kids. Hopefully we can all learn some new habits. I got a job so that really helps keep my eating in check! It also means more money to put out for food (healthy is expensive up here!) and fancy gadgets maybe (hello Ninja Blender and fitbit…) Hoping to stick with it better than last year. I have to finish unpacking and arranging my living room in order to do any home workouts, there isn’t any space to move yet! Good Luck to us all!
I would like to either win a 5k or finish one in under 20 minutes, but short of that, I just want to strive to be the healthiest version of me. 2016 had a lot of great positive changes for me and I’m determined to push that forward.

Because of that, I’m getting serious this year. Keeping the moderation and working on the physical, while I’m still happily fixing the mental.
