Synopsis:
This is a novel that talks about the struggle of an American family in the mid 1900’s trying to always find the American Dream. Eileen Tumulty was born in the early 1940’s to her Irish immigrant parents and wants to achieve more for herself. She works hard and even gets a graduate degree in nursing. She eventually meets her husband Ed Leary, a scientist who she believes will wisk her away to her dream life with the dream house in the dream neighborhood. However, Ed does not have the same aspirations that Eileen has and she spends years pushing him to be better. When finally the pieces fit and she sees that it not always that simple.
Final Thoughts: What a beautiful novel. I am so glad that I saw a picture of actor Misha Collins (@mishacollins) reading this on Facebook and talking about it on Twitter and decided to give it a read! I have to say that I am so glad that I listened to him! This is such a beautiful novel and I was moved to tears more than once. It is long so you will have to push trough, but you will be so happy that you did! I promise the beauty of this truly HONEST book will not disappoint.
