Internet Friends and Their Quest for Health: Week 27

Hello everyone and welcome to week 27 in the quest of a few internet friends who are trying to get healthy! We want to motivate one another and help each other get on the right track by working out, eating right, and reaching a great state of mind in the process. Join us weekly as we share our personal journey’s and stats to show you all that if we can do it, so can you!


It has been a pretty normal week. I have been making sure I hit about 10,000 steps a day. Most of the time this is pretty easy, but that is when I go to work and get to walk a lot. The weekends and when I work from home, it can be hard to hit the numbers. Last weekend we went to the zoo and I did hit my steps! If it ever cools down, I would like to take the kids on more walks but it has been so hot and humid here. I have been enjoying lifting still and have been trying to up the weight I am using to make sure that I feel the burn! Wanna chat about diet or exercise?  I’ve got nothing haha again just sitting in my crazy house filled with boxes that seem like will never be unpacked wondering where everything is lol No gain (yay!), no loss (boo!) but the number isn’t going up so I am just going to live with that for now lol Maybe this week I can get some stuff done! It’s been almost 100F here lately and we have no air, so a lot of time is spent doing nothing in front of fans! Happy Summertime!

I haven’t mentioned IIFYM on here in a few weeks, mainly because I felt like I was half-assing it to such a degree that it didn’t merit discussion. Despite being advised against it, I reinstated my cheat meal with dessert. It’s once a week, for crying out loud. I pretty much follow my macros the rest of the time, and I won’t lie, it is working. I’ve lost 3.8 pounds total and have seen progress in terms of my measurements. That being said, I still feel pretty shitty, and now obsess over not only calories, but carbs as well. Awesome. I’m happy with the results, I am, but I’m just annoyed with craze diets period. My husband thinks I should stick with it, so I will humor him for the time being.
I went to the chiropractor last week for the first time in MONTHS, and it really really helped with my runs. I didn’t realize how sore I was until I got fixed. Now I just have to get there this week to keep everything in place!! Also, my husband mounted a TV on a beam above my treadmill, so I am no longer dependent on laptops, tablets, phones, etc. in order to binge Netflix while I run. AND i hit the big 1300 this morning, so the end is really in sight for me!

Still making some slow progress. And any progress is good progress. Four total workouts this week. On day 1, I lifted, focusing on chest, upper back, core, and legs. On day 2, I played pickup soccer with my brother’s high school team. Those little jerks are quick! On day 3, I lifted again, focusing on arms, shoulders, legs, and core. Another soccer game Friday night. This time we won 2-0. It gets a little chippy sometimes in the old man leagues…
