Internet Friends and Their Quest for Health: Week 26

Hello everyone and welcome to week 26 in the quest of a few internet friends who are trying to get healthy! We want to motivate one another and help each other get on the right track by working out, eating right, and reaching a great state of mind in the process. Join us weekly as we share our personal journey’s and stats to show you all that if we can do it, so can you!


I had a pretty good week, stayed on track with numbers, worked out a lot, and even passed a midterm in TKD last Wednesday night. I met with a health coach yesterday at work and we got to do a follow up on some of her measurements! I have been tracking the scale loss and the waist loss in inches so those were no surprise. But what I really wanted to check was my Body Fat Percentage (BFP). I know that there is no real accurate way to tell this unless you can do a body pod, but I am happy with the estimates the handheld can provide. As a disclosure, these measurements were taking in the middle of the day, after food and drinks, so I know they are even more off than if I did them first thing in the morning. The last time I had it done was in March and I was at a BFP of 35.6%. Not the worst but for sure in the middle of the overweight range. Yesterday I chimed in at a BFP 32.5%. I was shocked. After about 3 months of work I have lost 3% body fat! I am very happy and proud that I have made it this far. It takes hard work and I know that if I continue I will reach my goals. Happy half way point everyone!!! No weight change for me, but I did find my pots and pans, and my kitchen is starting to look like a kitchen again instead of a storage shed full of boxes! So that’s one good thing! That means that after all the moving etc… meal planning is back on and I can start paying attention and doing what I should be again! YAY There is also piles and piles of yard work and gardening to be done out here, so there is some automatic exercise I’ll be picking up that I wasn’t doing before, hopefully I’ll be going back to seeing some results again soon!

Another long, boring week. I woke up early, I ran, I lifted, I was tired all day. Moving on. Sorry for these weary, weary posts, things are just stagnating over here. Not that that’s a bad thing, it just makes for incredibly boring blog posts.
On a brighter note, I unearthed a tablet that allows me to watch Netflix completely buffer free for the entirety of my run. This has has prevented much grief. One episode of Parenthood left, too bad I accidentally read a spoiler months ago. I am preparing to move on to Bloodlines and OITNB. My life is just so exciting, I know you guys are super jealous that I spend my days planning out my Netflix endeavors.

On the weight front, it is one step forward, one step back lately, but Facebook Memories just gave me a brilliant display of the differences from last year at this time. I feel good about where I am with my progress and my overall health, with the caveat that there is still more to do. Three trips to the gym this week. On day 1, I lifted, focusing on chest, upper back, core, and legs. On day 2, I ran a little over 4 miles outside. On day 3, I lifted again, focusing on arms, shoulders, legs, and core. Another soccer game Friday night. This time we won 5-0, and I played much better despite my personal continued goalless binge. Alas.


Dear Diary. Pffft. *pixie blows raspberries* ^ does that count as healthy? I somehow (read: stress) have managed to lose weight this week, despite the NEED for chocolate, issues with pre-move decision fatigue, and all manner of seemingly unhealthy food choices. Next week’s review of this week isn’t going to be much better, save for the increased physical activity – stairs. stairs. stairs. boxes and stairs. That is my new life mantra apparently. Diary, please send pizza. Or kittens that smell like pizza. Wait, that doesn’t sound good. Pizzabrained Pixie goes off to pack. AGAIN. >.<
