Internet Friends and Their Quest for Health: Week 25

Hello everyone and welcome to week 25 in the quest of a few internet friends who are trying to get healthy! We want to motivate one another and help each other get on the right track by working out, eating right, and reaching a great state of mind in the process. Join us weekly as we share our personal journey’s and stats to show you all that if we can do it, so can you!


This past week has been rough. I had ice cream on Father’s Day with the family and I do not regret it, but I have been finding that I am having some trouble keeping up with my motivation. I am working out the same but not eating as I should. I am not overindulging but seem to be under eating. I think that is making me lose my motivation! I am going to focus on hitting my numbers hard and stop these crazy carb cravings! RIP Lucky Charms!  Wanna chat about diet or exercise? Hey! So moving is done! Which is great, except I don’t know where anything is! It’s been so hot here lately, not that I have an excuse but seriously the swelling and water weight is doing a number on me with this weather! Can’t wait to get the air pumping in here! I am hoping once it cools off again I’ll see a loss, simply due to water weight disappearing and the work I’ve been doing paying off a bit lol

I really have nothing new to report, other than the fact that I ran 10 miles on the treadmill just now, and the internet was apparently under demonic possession at the time. I was not outside on this gorgeous morning because my husband is at the office, which is no biggie. As I previously mentioned, I am approaching the end of Parenthood on Netflix, so I enjoy my treadmill time with the Braverman family. Anyways, I don’t know what the problem is, as my tech savvy husband is not home, but Netflix kept starting an episode, freezing, needing restarted, wash, rinse, repeat. This, my friends, resulted in the longest, most boring run of my entire life. I was basically running with no distractions. Seasoned runners will tell you that this is peaceful and allows for introspection. I will tell you that I hated every minute of it and I cannot run without media distractions. On top of this, I am bloated, PMSing, and all around crabby. That is all.

Mixed bag this week. I skipped the gym on Thursday to play soccer in the evening, but got rained out by flood warning-level storms. So, I only had two trips to the gym this week. On day 1, I lifted, focusing on chest, upper back, core, and legs. On day 2, I lifted, focusing on arms, shoulders, legs, and core. I made up for the missed gym day a little with a soccer game on Friday night, but I’d planned to do that anyway. We tied 0-0. We will do much better as soon as I learn to calm down when I find myself virtually unchallenged in front of a yawning net! Plan is to stick with the general workout plan for this week and pray for better weather so as not to interfere!


Dear Diary. You and me… yeah, we love the chocolate. That’s how we cope with stress. I can’t wait to be moved. 10 more days. This will be the third country I’ve stayed in this year, and I’m tired. I want to unpack, so I can focus on getting into the healthy goals I want to promote. At least I’m not eating a full bar daily… <3 me, the ever clumsy one.
