Hello everyone and welcome to week 15 in the quest of a few internet friends who are trying to get healthy! We want to motivate one another and help each other get on the right track by working out, eating right, and reaching a great state of mind in the process. Join us weekly as we share our personal journey’s and stats to show you all that if we can do it, so can you!

I am sick. I hate the weather, I hate colds. All I wanted to do was work out and I can’t because it feels like I am dying. I know, completely melodramatic but sickness sucks! Giving your body time to rest when you are ill is the best, so I am just drinking a lot of fluids and sleeping. I will say that yesterday when I did push myself to workout (bad move, but I was feeling much better in the morning yesterday than I was last night) I hit a PR on my squats at 125 lbs! Woot! I was so happy. But now to relax and get better! You can also tweet me if you ever want to chat @Sarindre. PS- I would count my loss as almost artificial since I was sick and did not even closely eat enough yesterday.

Much better this week I must say! Back to running the regular old calories in/calories out game, and it’s working.  I am just not going to mess with it this time lol No matter how nice another diet or program or way to do things looks. Eating a predominantly paleo diet, mixed with keeping a loose eye on those pesky calories does a good job for me, and I might better just accept that! The calorie counting is basically for portioning, and it’s quite an eye opener for me to see what each thing I eat is “worth”. However if I am hungry at bedtime and I am out of calories I have a protein snack, because in my experience going to bed hungry is worse for my diet than going over calories with something nutritious. I am back to being 3lbs away from the 291 I was at when I started messing with my plan, and that makes me happy. Seeing the scale move in the right direction again, along with not being all stressed about meeting macros makes for a good day for me! Hopefully you are all seeing some successes no matter how small, they all count! I am a good reminder that not all diets work for all people, if you are eating nutritiously and moving towards goals that you have for a healthier lifestyle and it’s working well for you, then keep it up! We’re not going to be able to maintain a lifestyle forever if we can barely keep it or get stressed out by it while trying to just meet the goals! Keep up the good work everyone! My MFP is Elyntia if anyone wants to add me 🙂

This weekend was an epic, epic, epic food fail. Epic. I’m talking epic here. We had some friends over Saturday night into the wee hours of Sunday morning, and healthy eating was not my priority. Fail. That’s all I have to say about that. Moving on.

I’m finally feeling 100% again after that flu thing, so my mileage has been good! It’s looking like I will hit my 700 miles by Wednesday morning, and if I keep with this pace I’ll get to 800 miles by the end of the month. I’m still on track for the year, my shoes are sorted out, and I’ve abandoned Friday Night Lights in favor of Parenthood. This saddens me, but I was getting really bored, and the storyline just meandered away on me. I do love Coach Taylor, but I need to stay invested in my show when running for as long as I do. I also took a brief segue into Amazon Prime’s Catastrophe, which is AMAZING.

Last week – 54 miles

WTD – 21.91 miles

MTD – 96.49 miles

YTD – 697.01 miles

Wow! I cannot believe what a different a week makes. I just drank some Iced Peach Green tea, and since I have not been drinking as much pop I can REALLY taste the sugar… it’s almost too much. I have been trying to drink more tea’s for caffeine, as coffee is one of my major IBS triggers. I need the caffeine – I cannot function without it! It’s a life saver. Anyway, I used to hate tea as it was never “sweet” enough for me, but now that I’m trying to limit my pop intake, the world of tea has been unleashed! There’s just something satisfying about making a cup of tea, smelling it, holding it in your hands. Yum! I can taste all of the flavors, something I’m very much so not used to, and it’s delightful. I lost two pounds, but I’m not celebrating yet. I have really slacked on working out at the gym, so I’ve been trying to make up by walking more. Yesterday I used the stairs three times more than normal and I’m feeling it today. I am trying not to beat myself up for that, because I’ve got to start somewhere, right? And this is my body reminding me why I need to make these changes.

This week has been crazy, I was able to get 30km on my bike done!! I’ve been avoiding all my normal go to stress foods, and been really able to focus in my nutrition. I’m heading to Chilliwack, BC on Friday at 5am, and instead of eating fast food, I’m pre packing all of my meals (chicken and veggies with 1/2 cup rice) and the hubbies and kids as well!! We will be doing one meal a surprise late birthday thing for my mother in law as well! Looking forward to an awesome week ahead!

Weight last week – 182.4

Weight now – 175

The wheels came off halfway through the week. Some social events and a busy schedule lead to some less than healthy (read: really poor) choices which left me staring at the scale in abject horror. Because of that I decided to try to step my game up. I’m setting up a new work out routine. I’m also focusing on eating as clean as I can for the rest of the month and drinking a half gallon of water or more a day. It’s still early in the first week of this but the scale seems to be cheering me on at the moment.
Starting Weight: 215.6
Weight at the beginning of the week: 212.4
End of Week Weight: 213.2
Starting weight: 213 (3/1)
Current weight: 205 (4/8)
Goal weight: 190
I’m not such a good dieter, but my workouts have kicked up a notch with the start of another soccer season. Soccer is really my biggest motivator for dropping a few lbs because I really don’t move as well with a spare tire around my waist! Last week I only made it to the gym to lift twice because of my schedule, but I also played soccer on Sunday. Planning to get to the gym three times this week.
