I thought I’d give you guys my base smoothie recipe, in case some of you need to switch things up a bit! Maybe yours is getting boring, and I am not really into making the real fancy ones on a regular basis. I like a base smoothie and then I change up the fruit in it every couple days or whenever I really feel like it!
This is going to be super simple! Toss all the ingredients, liquid first if you have a picky blender like I do, into your blender. You can add ice if yours isn’t quite thick enough but I can say I don’t usually have that issue! This week I have been using Presidents Choice Power Berry Blend for fruit, but you can use whatever you want!
- 1 to 1.5 C Almond Milk
- 1/2 C Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 Banana
- 1 Spinach chunk ( I buy them frozen in little cubes)
- 1 Scoop of your favorite protein powder if you’d like, some days I am lacking and need to make it up, others not so much
- 1 C of your fav frozen fruit, this is where I mix it up, I usually have several different frozen fruits in my freezer so I can pick what I feel like!
And that my friends is it! I have them for breakfast, and sometimes in the evening post work-out or if I am hungry and don’t want to wreck my diet for the day, or if I need to make up nutrients at the end of the day I find this helps and keeps me from feeling hungry when I wake up!
