Perfect for an Easter morning breakfast, or snack with your coffee while the kids are tearing up the house looking for eggs!
Original recipe came from Sun Maid raisins years ago, and we’ve just kept writing it down ever since.
- 2 C Flour
- 1/3 C Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
- 1 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 C Butter
- 2/3 C Milk
- 1 Beaten Egg
- 1 Tsp Vanilla
- 1 C Raisins
In one bowl mix the flour, sugar, baking powder ad salt, then using a fork cut the butter into the mix. It should end up resembling coarse crumbs. In another bowl mix the egg, milk and vanilla. Add the two bowls together and mix until all the dry ingredients are moistened. Add the raisins to the mix.
With floured hands form the dough into an 8 inch round on a greased cookie sheet (or parchment lined). Cut the dough into 8 wedges and slightly separate them. Bake them at 400F for 15-20 mins. It says server warm, but really they are good whenever you decide to have them lol
Next I have to find a recipe to make grain free scones or something similar! Would be nice to be able to make some that my whole family can eat without feeling terrible!
