Day 17 of the August Book Photo Challenge from Books and Cupcakes! Today’s prompt is “A Book Set in Your State or Town.” Stephen King’s novels are usually set in Maine, especially in his fictional town of Castle Rock, but this notable exception actually takes place in and around Pittsburgh: Christine. “Christine” is the story of how one young man’s reclamation project of a beat up 1958 Plymouth Fury turns deadly. As Arnold begins to bring the car back to life, it comes to life… literally.
“A haunted car? But that’s so hokey!”
Well, it’s not. It’s awesome. It is so quintessentially Stephen King to turn the mundane into a thrilling horror-ride, and this is King at the very top of his game from beginning to end.
