Anyone who knows me knows my love for Charles De Lint, but this one I chose for Books and Cupcakes  Day 4: Bookmarker!
Why? I have a bookmark with this book’s title and an image on it.

Unlike many of De Lint’s works, this one is more appropriate for kids (late elementary school). It’s a fairy tale about seven sisters and how they get caught up in a feud between the bee faeries and the ginseng faeries. It’s fun, charming, and whimsical. Though it’s short, each sister has a part to play in the events that unfold and certainly wild personalities. The illustrations by Charles Vess fit the world beautifully and I’d highly recommend it to anyone for a quick read!

Hello everyone! I'm a 30-year old Middle School science teacher, which gets all kinds of reactions. When I'm not teaching, I'm either writing, playing video games, practicing violin, drawing, or reading. I've spent many hours hiking in the woods and have been known to stargaze. I live in Maryland with my awesome, supportive, and loving husband and although we don't have kids yet, my 100+ students keep me busy.
