#100days V2.0: Wk3 – Museum, NaNo, Lose It! and more…

This has been a fun week for me. On Monday, SP and I went to the National Museum of the American Screen Shot 2015-10-11 at 7.38.32 AMIndian after a delightful lunch with the hubs. It’s free, and part of the Smithsonian collection. Twice, SP and I were told by security to quiet down in there. Although we were only laughing at normal levels. Sheesh! People just want to enjoy themselves! We didn’t let it dampen our spirits though, and we still had a delightful time.

We had lovely discussions about the artifacts, and the perspectives of the people who had crafted the items on display. What would they have said about the pieces in the collections? Would they be honored or embarrassed by the items being on display? How did each of us think those people would react if we could bring them to the future to show them their handiwork on display for all to see? We shared tidbits from what we were reading on the info cards near the display items, and from what we already knew of the time/people/area.

SP and I happily smiled when we saw something from our birth province, Ontario. We especially enjoyed the exquisitely made Statue of Liberty. The statue was quite the talking point for us for a while, even after we had moved onto other art and handiwork.

We wanted one of the most incredibly delish happy-mouth things ever created: “The Peanut Pleaser”.  Apparently, it has 325 calories but worth every freakin’ one! I’m not even kidding, I LOVE this thick, smoothie-like beverage! Ingredients: soy milk, peanut butter, banana, and whey protein. I’m not picky about the milk I drink, so it wasn’t like I was trying to find a particular style to fit my healthy choice eating habits. I just love peanut butter and banana together, and the complete win for this. I think I will need to visit Manhattan more often now.

I’m not sure what the logic behind my trainer rough-estimating my weight on Thursday did, other than make me feel extremely shocked that I had supposedly gained even MORE weight. (Spoiler alert: I hadn’t, but I’ll get to stats in a bit).  “…let’s just call it… 286.”  Uh, let’s NOT. How about you take an accurate reading, lady?! I work too dang hard to have someone GUESS at how well I’m doing!

I’m so glad I record my own stats.

NaNo is really on my mind these days. I’m elated that I now have my main characters sussed out, and I have some other key items of importance locked up. The bonus is, two of my dearhearts are going to also join NaNo! I’m beside myself happy with their decision to jump on this words-wagon with me and several others. Since one of them is being brave enough to share her story, even though she’s been bitten by the plagiarizing thief-wolf before, I’m going to keep a lightly-made “I promise I’ll think about it”.  I’m going to do something I swore I’d never do again: retrain myself to sing. I used to be good, like stupid good, at singing. I still do it for the cats, but there are very few people in the world who have heard me sing in the last 20 years or so.

I’m using a new online app called “Lose It!”. I can plug in food, exercise, and weight. I also can have friends on there, and comment on their progress! I’m going to start posting those stats as well. It’s just the round-up for the day, however, as the food/exercise diary would be considerably longer.

I’m going to be a very brave girl tomorrow and head to a mall. Yup, me, at a M-A-L-L. #pixiegonecrazy.

SP and I are heading to the Staten Island Mall – on Columbus Day of all days. Though, we both didn’t think about the fact that Monday was going to be a day off for all the students. Then, we’re going to head back here to where the boy is going to make us a delicious goat curry. Later, he’s going to develop some film for her as well. I’m sure you’ll hear all about my trip to the mall in next week’s review.

I’m actually looking forward to it. It will be the first time, save the Staten Island Ferry Terminal crowds, that I am purposely in a significant crowd of people since I lost the weight and am now so mobile.

I am tempted to start shouting out to DayLites for their “wins of the week”. Seriously. You are all making Auntie Pixie smile something fierce, you beautiful creatures you! I am so proud of each of your steps to change your life! I know a lot of you reading this are DayLites, so let me take this moment now.

You, staring at the screen, I absolutely adore you. I think you’reScreen Shot 2015-10-11 at 10.11.01 AM amazing, beautiful and incredibly brave for facing your life. You’re taking control of it, and demanding that the world notice your goodness. Stay vital. Stay beautiful.

Even if it’s only ten more steps that you take today, that’s ten more than yesterday. That means tomorrow, you can do ten more, which is TWENTY more than yesterday.

I think I might just go for a walk today, since I’m done with this well before 11am. Maybe I’ll be wildpixie and get my hair cut!! 😀
