Pixie Reviews: Oregon Trail Emulator

I LOVED Oregon Trail when I was in college the first time. I played it so much, I used to have dreams about needing to fix wagon wheels.

We were allowed to play it in the Mac Room (that’s legit what Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada called the computer lab back in 1992). We had competitions to see who would live the longest, and the losers would have to buy the winner shots at Shakers or The Purple Onion or… well, it was college, and you can guess we did a lot of bar-hopping back in the day.

Between this and the Addam’s Family Pinball game, I had free drinks a lot.

So I was stumbling around the internet yesterday, having heard from a few people that I should check out and see if I can find Oregon Trail to play again.

WHOOHOOHOO! I found one!

I’m gonna toss some pics up of my play through, and I’ll let the final one speak for itself if I in fact succeed or died of dysentery (which I’ve now had IRL and it fucking sucks).

Seriously, check this site out. It has SO many cool old school/retro games!

I haven’t checked them all out to be sure of their play-ability, but rest assured, if you go searching, you’re bound to have a few good happy triggered moments of “OH SNAP!” or something else run through your mind that isn’t so 90s.
