Chapter 7: The Bathtub.

That van though. Dude. That was awesome. If you wanna know, go watch it. Seriously, why are reading this far ahead if you don’t want to watch it?

Good job, Lucas. #redeemed.

Can I just be the one to say it? Wheelers, wow, way to set the bar so low for yourselves, that when you trip over it, you don’t even realise how low you are already. Spineless, tactless, fake, and trusting the wrong person. Why am I even acting surprised?
Dustin’s phone call. The ‘Curiosity Door’ – this made me laugh heartily and loudly. I envisioned Kaylee (yes, my cat) as a 12 yr old girl saying the same thing on the phone. It made me laugh even harder. Well played sweet boy, well played indeed.

Anyone else love how they have everyone doing different jobs for this episode, and leave the boys to figure out the one task that probably should have had a bit of supervision, even for a basic ‘how to read the instructions’? I mean, these boys play 10+hrs of DnD, read LotR, The Hobbit, etc. but couldn’t locate the “this side ^UP^” picture display on the box? (I’m just playin’ but you know that has a bit of a continuity error in my books. These are brilliant boys, I’m pretty sure they know which way a turtle is when it’s upright…)

Joyce, can I adore you any more than when you are talking to El? Nope, I’m pretty sure that the Onion Parade wandered through the room for a reason. Thank you for totally giving that little girl even a fleeting moment of “if I had a mama, this is how I wish her to be”.

*continuity issues first*

The pool – come on, boys, look at the pictures on the side. I did love the fact it felt so real to the extent that I think that was all ad-lib’d by the actors. I’m guessing The Duffer Brothers had the pool pulled out, everyone left the shot except for Lucas and Dustin, and they had to fend for themselves IRL and on the show at the same time.

I love that 011’s dress is clean in the Upside Down.

Now: my crazy theory: I think that Will might be Hopper’s kid. I know, I know; that’s pretty far reaching, but hear me out.
Parts that support my theory:
1. He’s really really invested with Will’s disappearance, but almost ignores Barb’s completely, doesn’t follow through with Benny’s “suicide” that he knows isn’t a suicide other than to find Jane’s mama.
2. Lonnie hates Hopper. Maybe it was from when they were in school together, but I think it might come out that Hop’s been with Joyce BEFORE the divorce.
3. It was mentioned twice (at least) that Hop and Joyce had been together, and their familiarity is deeper than all his other relationships (ie the librarian, that other chic who was in his bed one morning and never seen again in the show…)
4. He goes further to help bring Will back than anyone else. I do have a side theory about that, but I’ll save that for the end.
